Nefertiti’s Secrets is a natural hair care brand inspired by the beauty secrets of ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti and beauty rituals practiced during her reign. One of their key products was discovered in King Tut’s tomb. Nefertiti’s Secret line is a multi-corrective system for hair and scalp care aimed to meet the needs of a multi-cultural population with different hair textures.
Nefertiti’s Secrets Natural Hair Care
The founder, Conchita Pleasant was polite and was ready to help with any questions or concerns I might have with the products. I did a little research on her to find out that she’s no stranger to the natural hair world. She launched Nefertiti’s Secrets and went through chemotherapy for breast cancer while developing her brand. In her spare time, Conchita volunteers and mentors women and at-risk youths to spread the values of entrepreneurship, female empowerment, and beauty & wellness.
So coupled with the natural ingredients and the history behind the brand I was ecstatic when I was asked to review her product line. Being a self-titled Lazy Natural I have stayed with the same hair care routine for months so I was ready to break out and try something different.
Nefertiti’s Secrets Corrective Therapy Treatment System
I was sent the Nefertiti’s Secrets Corrective Therapy Treatment System to review which includes the Moringa Oil, All-In-One Leave-In Treatment, Sulfate-Free Revitalizing Shampoo, Complete Hydration Conditioner, and the Ultimate Rejuvenating Treatment. I did two hair washes and a refresh before writing my review.
The Sytems aims to hydrate and repair. Let me tell you that the Revitalizing Shampoo was super hydrating. I felt like I was using conditioner, it lathered perfectly, detangled and smelt great without being overpowering. The shampoo was so moisturizing that I almost forgot that I still had to condition next.

My first hair washes day with the product I decided to use the shampoo and the Ultimate Rejuvenating Treatment, I was advised that unless my hair was extremely dry that I wouldn’t need to use both the Complete Hydration Conditioner and the Ultimate Rejuvenating Treatment together.

Styling my hair with Nefertiti’s Secrets
What stood out to me using these two products was that my hair was soft but also detangled. I had no problem slipping my fingers through my hair. I was able to quickly and easily style my hair. In the name of the review aka #lazynatural, I did not detangle my hair beforehand.
Unfortunately, I didn’t use enough gel AND I didn’t let my twists dry before undoing them on Thanksgiving morning. So my results were lackluster, soft but no curl definition.

I am not blaming Nefertiti’s Secrets for these results. I committed a carnal sin by not letting my hair dry.
The next week I used Sulfate-Free Revitalizing Shampoo and the Complete Hydration Conditioner. My least liked product out of the Corrective Therapy Treatment System was the conditioner. I did not like the smell and I found it to be surprisingly less hydrating than the shampoo.

Moringa Oil
Sulfate-Free Revitalizing Shampoo
This time around when I styled my hair I made sure to focus on each styling process and gave my twists plenty of time to fully dry. I did the L.O.C. method with the All-In-One Leave-In Treatment and Moringa oil. The results were amazing. The softness coupled with my tangle free hair resulted in shiny, soft and defined coils. Best twist out I have had in a long time.
Each time I undid my twists with the Moringa oil. This oil, yes, please! My hair loved it, it smells great, in the words of Phil, ” your hair smells amazing”. The oil cut down on frizz and sealed my ends against this cold New England weather. Plus, if I do decide to use heat on my hair the oil doubles as thermal protection.

Final thoughts on Nefertiti’s Secrets
The stand out products in this order is the Moringa oil, the Revitalizing shampoo, and the Ultimate Rejuvenating Treatment. Together these products helped my hair maintained its definition and softness without an itchy or flaky scalp. I have learned that the health of our hair is the foundation of every good hairstyle. You cant work on dead and dehydrated hair, healthy hydrated scalp and hair will give you the bouncy defined curls and coils you want.

It was mentioned earlier how moisturizing the shampoo is, unlike most shampoos that make your hair stiff this instantly turned my hair soft, tangle free and pliable.
I enjoyed each product except for the conditioner, for whatever reason the smell of this one is unlike the rest. Everything else had a nice faint nutty smell while the conditioner reminded me of hair relaxer.
Out of all the hair oil, I have tried since starting my natural hair journey three years ago, the Moringa oil is the best so far. It just works. What I loved was that I didn’t have to take the additional step to detangle, the shampoo and the Ultimate Rejuvenating Treatment did that for me. If you want to cut down on the number of products needed for your hair washing day but don’t want to skimp on the results I would suggest you look into Nefertiti’s Secrets.
