Minimalist Morning with AllModern

Sponsored by All Modern but all opinions are my own.

Last week, I wrote about my lived-in-minimalist living room decorating goals. Now, I’m excited to partner with AllModern to reveal my living room! This is my personal spin on minimalism. And with the help of a few AllModern pieces from their Minimalist Collection , I’m sharing how I use simple, clean-line furniture pieces in my minimalist mornings.

Minimalism is an art movement and lifestyle based on the belief that less is more. This includes clothes, financial expenses, and excess things that don’t spark joy or help bring purpose to your day.

Minimalist spaces are easily recognized by their clean lines, uncluttered surfaces, and calming color palettes. The design style is all about simplicity.

Minimalism is a Mindset

I believe that I can have a minimalist mindset without having an all -white decor palette. I don’t have to stop loving colors and textures, but I need to be more intentional with my space. It is an act of self-care because allowing too much stuff to take up space in my home results in too much mental space and energy being used.

With this new apartment, I can put into practice my desire to live with less.

I’ll be the first to admit that I struggle with saying no to pretty, flashy sales, and new things, but I know more is not always best.

I can get overwhelmed easily, which leads to brain fog and a lack of productivity. Declutters has been proven to improve my overall mental wellbeing.

Effortlessly Minimalist

With this minimalist mindset in mind, I crafted a functional, lived-in minimalist living room that has become essential to my slow, minimalist morning. The key to a minimalist morning is to eliminate distractions and decisions. This is where being intentional about my living room and the furniture and decor played a major role.

I live in an apartment with my husband, so I have to use my space wisely. A key to keeping the living room looking well put together, simple without being bare, and clean is to invest in the right furniture pieces.

Clean-lined glass coffee tables, nesting end tables, and functional decor are the perfect way to be effortlessly minimalist.

The coffee table with its simple glass top, tall leggy wood base, and brass accents help my living room look light and airy. As the focal point in the room, I make sure to keep it clutter-free by only keeping the essentials on it.

My Minimalist Tip

Make your furniture work for you.

This is where style and functionality meet to create my simple, slow, and minimalist morning.

I keep my journals and favorite self-care books on our coffee table, as well as a tray with our remote, diffuser, and coasters.

I decided to not go the non-traditional route, and steer clear of the stylish picture books. By doing so, I can keep my go-to books nearby while also creating a stylish start to my morning.

Choosing to display essential items, like my journal, on the coffee table makes it easier to achieve an effortless, minimalist living room. Another tip is by having multipurpose furniture. For example, a vase that also functions as a watering can.

Minimalist Morning

By keeping minimalism in mind while incorporating furniture pieces that highlight the joy of simplicity, my mornings have become more intentional and self-care-focused.

Since the coffee table is clear of all unnecessary clutter, it helps the room look bigger and brighter. It forces me to be mindful of what I put on its glass surface.

After making my drink of choice, I sit on either the couch or over by my nesting tables. I usually read or  journal.

For living room decor, I rely heavily on my indoor plants. I love taking care of them, and they have become an important part of my self-care routine and slow, minimalist morning. Plant care is a very grounding experience for me, so I love to do it in the morning.

This on-trend vase not only looks aesthetically pleasing. It is also functional and serves as a pretty reminder to grab it, fill it with water, and water my thirsty plants.

I love the way the vase looks on top of the nesting end tables. The coffee table was the only tabletop in the living room, so I wanted end tables. I wanted something that was easy to move, and also help distribute the light through the room. With their long clean lines, the nesting tables help me achieve an effortless and functional minimalist living room.

Other notable pieces in my living room that I am proud of are the couch with its simple wood legs, the console table with its smooth and sleek drawers, and the accent chairs.

Besides eventually replacing the art with bigger pieces I am finished with my living room and very proud of how it came together! Its functionality, style, and effortlessness ensure that I can start my mornings my way. I  have my eye on a few more All Modern pieces for the bedroom and will be looking into redesigning the office, so stay tuned for those reveals!
