7 Black owned Natural Makeup Brands to Try ASAP

Natural, vegan, cruelty-free AND black owned ? Yes please! Below are 7 black women-owned makeup brands that care about the ingredients they use as well as the shades they offer that you need to try ASAP.

Why wouldn’t we want to make- up, skin-care, and beauty products that are good for our skin instead of covering us in toxic cancer causing ingredients? Is on us to do the work, to be mindful of what we consume, and to seek out better alternatives. The government and FDA does not have out best intrest in mind when it comes to what is safe in the beauty industry.

Black women spend more in the beauty industry which also means they are exposed at a higher level to toxic chemicals.Black people make up about 13 percent of the U.S. population, but by one estimate, African-Americans’ spending accounts for as much as 22 percent of the $42 billion-a-year personal care products market, suggesting that they buy and use more of such products – including those with potentially harmful ingredients – than Americans as a whole –Environmental Work Group

As consumers, we control what and were we spend our money and as a black woman I try to give back to the black community as often as I can. I want to cycle my green dollars into black women- owed bussiness that not only produce products with deeper skin tones in mind but also use good for me ingredients.

If you’re like me and want to transition or if you’re ready to fully jump into non-toxic beauty but don’t know where to start I have scored the great wide web for 7  black- women owned cosmetic brands that are non-toxic, vegan, or all natural that you should most definitely check out.

Yet, in the U.S., the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) has only banned 11 toxins in our personal care products and cosmetics.
